We are excited to be organising our first Flying High Expressive Arts CIC talent competition in a long time and we hope it will become an annual event. As a Community Interest Company, Flying High’s aims focus on creating inclusive opportunities for local people of all ages to engage in the arts and theatre. This event will be raising funds to support our Young Company who are performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer, a lifetime experience and as costs have risen so much this year, we wish to make it accessible for all members to have an equal opportunity to this offer. At the same time, this event will create an opportunity for local people to share their talents with a wider audience in the style of Britain’s Got Talent without the buzzers!
We have a number of acts entered including comedy, singing, dance, acting, gymnastics/acro, musical instrument playing from a range of ages. From the entries, around 20 will be selected to perform in front of an audience and our 4 judges this year who are:
Kev Castle (Hospitals Radio Presenter/Theatre Reviewer) Loreto Murray (Voice Coach/Lecturer in Voice/Actor/Theatre Practitioner) Ian Smith (Acting Coach and former Director of The Television Workshop) Hayley Corah (Producer at Inspire Youth Arts/Dance Practitioner)
Tickets for this show will be available from Monday 3rd June and it would be so good to have a full audience to support all our performers and raise our much needed funds so thank you in advance.
