Founded in 1967, the Nottingham Organ Society has consistently brought some of the UK’s best and brightest Organ and Piano talent to the theatre for over 50 years! This month, popular performer Nicholas Martin will be back on stage.

Nottingham Organ Society… Mark Spafford

Mark Spafford started playing for concerts in 2011 following numerous enquiries from people at the dances asking if he played for concerts as well. Since then, he has performed many times at clubs and societies as Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Ollerton, Blackpool, South Yorkshire, East Herts, York, Hull, Harrogate, Cheadle, Great Yarmouth, North Tyneside and Swineshead. His variety of music, style and arrangements have been well received by audiences with feedback comments of “you play with a lot of feeling”

He has always played Yamaha organs during his career before changing to keyboards to make life a lot easier for transportation, along with the fantastic sounds generated from the latest Yamaha equipment. Mark’s current instrument is the Yamaha Genos.

Revival

The ever-popular Revival will be back again this year, 33 years on from their first ever performance at The Bonington!

Revival are a group of seasoned musicians who specialise in re-creating the sounds of the sixties and seventies. Based in Nottinghamshire, they have entertained audiences across the country for over 3 decades and have helped raise thousands of pounds for charity!

“They just keep Rockin ‘n’ Rollin’ along” – well, that’s the plan anyway!

Jazz in the Bar- Jim Walker Violin

This month Jazz in the Bar goes continental with a programme of French influenced jazz.

We welcome back jazz violin virtuoso Jim Walker who impressed everyone on his previous appearance last year. Jim’s playing is influenced by Stephane Grappelli and he has a wide repertoire of French inspired jazz. He will be accompanied by the talented trio of: Eliot Lewis, Guitar, Steve Truman, Double Bass, Clive Loveday, Drums.

Expect a night of finger snapping toe tapping jazz.

Based in Nottingham, Carlton MVC is a successful male voice choir. We have been thrilling audiences with our high quality sound for years. Nottingham Organ Society… Jon Smith

Jon Smith has been a professional musician for over 40 years and giving public performances since he was 11 years old. He was involved with the development of the first Digital Organ in Germany with HOHNER.

Jon is truly an international performer, having entertained thousands of people all over the world, from Shanklin to Toronto, Scarborough to Barbados, U.S.A., Canada, Europe, aboard cruise ships in the Caribbean. He has also worked along with international stars in top cabaret venues and played extensively in the U.K. delighting audiences in Summer Shows on the East Coast and the Isle of Wight.

He has proved to be much in demand playing for Strict Tempo Dancing. His unique style combined with his vocal talents are a rare combination adding a new dimension to both dances and concerts.
